Poppy Roberts

Poppy completed her BSc in Economics at the University of Bristol before joining the MSc in Data Science at University College London. She then spent two years in the financial sector, most recently working on quantitative risk models for credit derivatives.

She has a longstanding interest in applying analytics methods to problems in human health, so far focused on causal inference. She will pursue her StatML project in collaboration with the Convergence Science Centre and seeks to increase her knowledge in machine learning methodologies.

Poppy is a Martingale Scholar. Alongside her academic work, she volunteers her time to charity, and her lobbying efforts have led her to give speeches for MPs and Secretaries of State in Westminster.
