Millie studied Mathematics and Computer Science at Bristol before completing a Master’s in Biostatistics at Imperial, where she became particularly interested in health-related applications. She explored this through various university projects and research fellowships, including a Master’s project on estimating HIV incidence using a Bayesian survival analysis model that combined multimodal data. Before starting her PhD, she worked as a Statistician at Barts Clinical Trials Unit, contributing to cancer screening and prevention studies.
During the StatML programme, she is keen to develop statistical and machine learning methods within a probabilistic Bayesian framework, with a focus on models that can meaningfully inform public health outcomes.
