Kitty completed an integrated master’s in mathematics at Cambridge, focusing on statistics. Her master’s project was on mendelian randomisation, investigating statistical remedies for genetic variants which fail to be valid instrumental variables. She has also carried out summer research projects at Oxford and Cambridge looking at the spatio-temporal distribution of rabies case data and Gaussian processes in climate science respectively.
At StatML, she is interested in exploring further topics in biological statistics, including population genetics, as well as learning more machine learning theory and methodology.
Outside of her studies, Kitty enjoys caving, climbing mountains, playing in brass bands, and beekeeping.
