Charlotte completed an MMath in Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Oxford, where she developed interests in statistical machine learning, Bayesian inference, probabilistic modelling, natural language processing, and graphical models. Her master’s dissertation, Black-Box Comparisons of Large Language Models, investigated ways to model and compare the responses of large language models to fixed queries, under the supervision of Dr Desi Ivanova.
Alongside her studies, Charlotte undertook an internship at the Alan Turing Institute, developing a scalable data-triage and analysis tool using transformer-based natural language processing methods. She is particularly interested in the development and application of robust statistical and machine-learning methods for understanding complex data and AI systems.
