Anqi Qu grew up in South Africa and graduated from the University of Chicago with a Master’s in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s in Statistics and Economics with Honours. Her honours thesis examined the statistical properties of large language model (LLM) agents in the context of economic research, bridging her interests in machine learning and applied economics.
Her current research interests focus on autonomous agents, strategic game theory, active inference, and broader questions of AI alignment. Beyond her academic work, Anqi enjoys cooking (especially experimenting with new soups), climbing, reading, and spending time with her two dogs.
