Yuval was born and raised in London and studied Computer Science at Jesus College, Cambridge. In his master’s he focused primarily on Natural Language Processing, whilst also exploring other aspects and applications of machine learning. At StatML he plans to explore Machine Learning for Cancer Susceptibility Genetics, in collaboration with Cancer Research UK, under the supervision of Dr Yingzhen Li, Dr Oliver Ratmann and Prof Richard Houlston. Yuval aims to integrate GWAS, transcriptomic and chromatin interaction data to identify novel loci and genetic variants associated with cancer susceptibility, targeting specifically colorectal, breast and prostate cancers. In his spare time, Yuval loves to cook, bake, read and play water polo.
