Bevis grew up in Herefordshire and studied Physics at the University of Cambridge. In his Master’s, he worked on a deep learning research project in collaboration with Cancer Research UK. This project focused on the automation of CT scan image segmentation and the prediction of treatment response in ovarian cancer patients.
At StatML, Bevis plans to explore dynamic Bayesian modelling of networks in collaboration with Cancer Research UK, focusing on how cancer cells acquire drug resistance. He is also eager to deepen his knowledge in many areas of statistics and machine learning. Outside of work, Bevis enjoys playing guitar, running and the occasional game of pool.
